Northwest San Pedro Neighborhood CouncilProposed Joint San Pedro Neighborhood Council Motion Whereas, the Port of Los Angeles, at the direction of the Board of Harbor Commissioners, asked San Pedro’s three neighborhood councils to provide comments on its Bridge to Breakwater Project Description prior to an environmental impact review. Recently, the Port requested the three neighborhood councils to draft a Lower Density Alternative for evaluation in the upcoming environmental review conducted by the Port and the Army Corps of Engineers. Whereas, in cooperation with the Port, the three Councils held a community workshop on June 4, 2005 to review the draft of a Lower Density Alternative, and received comments from the public. The three San Pedro Neighborhood councils herein ask the Board of Harbor Commissioners to ensure that Port staff and consultants working on the Bridge to Breakwater Project CEQA documentation: 1. Provide the resources and data needed by the Neighborhood Councils
to create and depict, in a timely manner, a Lower Density Alternative
that is fully consistent with the objectives in the final San Pedro
Waterfront and Promenade Master Development Plan from Bridge to Breakwater
Project Description. Passed by the NWSPNC Board on June 13, 2005.
